Grind the fish into minced meat and place it in a bowl along with the egg, herbs, spices, salt, and breadcrumbs. Pour in the saffron-infused water as well.
Mix well. Form small meatballs from the minced meat, slightly larger than a walnut. Place them on a tray and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.
For the sauce, sauté finely chopped onion and garlic in a saucepan.
Then add spices, salt, add crushed tomatoes, pour in 0.5 cup of water, and bring to a boil.
Add the meatballs to the sauce and gently turn them so that the sauce covers each meatball.
Simmer on low heat for 15 minutes. Serve hot, with a side of rice or couscous.
