Tartines with herring and sour cream sauce with horseradish
15 minutes
Even a beginner can handle it
These mini open-faced sandwiches are an excellent snack to go with a bunch of different drinks. And simply delicious food for those who, like me and some of my friends, love herring with tender affection.
There’s nothing new in the combination “bread–herring–onion.” But if you complement it with a piquant sauce of sour cream and horseradish, it becomes something new, albeit still within the framework of traditional Slavic tastes. In short, I recommend trying it — very tasty.
And yes — it’s a good appetizer option for a traditional feast. Take note — New Year is already near!

Cut the herring into pieces proportional to the bread. Cut the onion into rings.
For the sauce, mix the sour cream and horseradish, salt to taste.
Put the sauce on the bread.
Place the herring and red onion on top, garnish with dill.
Enjoy your meal!
