Tartines with herring and sour cream sauce with horseradish

       15 minutes

Even a beginner can handle it

These mini open-faced sandwiches are an excellent snack to go with a bunch of different drinks. And simply delicious food for those who, like me and some of my friends, love herring with tender affection.

There’s nothing new in the combination “bread–herring–onion.” But if you complement it with a piquant sauce of sour cream and horseradish, it becomes something new, albeit still within the framework of traditional Slavic tastes. In short, I recommend trying it — very tasty.

And yes — it’s a good appetizer option for a traditional feast. Take note — New Year is already near!

Cut the bread into bite-sized pieces.

Cut the herring into pieces proportional to the bread. Cut the onion into rings.

For the sauce, mix the sour cream and horseradish, salt to taste.

Put the sauce on the bread.

Place the herring and red onion on top, garnish with dill.

      Enjoy your meal!

For exampleSvetlana D. in reply to Ekaterina: Ekaterina, thanks! I haven’t come across one like that yet. I’ll look more closely, maybe we have it too! 🙂Anastasia in reply to Svetlana D.: I gave up searching and mix it myself, luckily I’ll be making something with beetroot for the feast anyway.

I use baked beetroot. The main thing is to remove the excess liquid.Marisha Good afternoon, Tatyana! Original, simple, tasty! Thanks for the recipe! Tell me, I finally found and bought pecans the other day, do you happen to have a recipe with them?Alina-belle in reply to Marisha: I join the question: I often buy pecans and so far only make chocolate with them and sprinkle ice cream, but I’d like something more interesting 😉 Pecans work well in recipes that call for walnuts 🙂Elia Great appetizer! Thanks! And the presentation is wonderful!!!Alena Saturday evening and unexpected guests. While the chicken (by your recipe) is in the oven, I quickly made these tartines. Really liked the combination of sour cream with horseradish sauce. The dish was a hit. Huge thanks. Great appetizer! Just need to find strong horseradish so it’s noticeable in the sauce
